Overview
Due to the response and wishes of many of those who have taken part in the previous classics I have organised, I have bent to their requests and have decided to carry on independently with the classic.
The race will be held under the new name "Taree Invitation 5000".
At the end of the 2005 race season I will cease racing myself, this will allow all my time to be devoted to the Classic race and it also means a lot more room for birds with space for 500 pigeons if required. Also this means MORE prize money as NO PERCENTAGE will be taken by a club or individual, only legitimate expenses will be deducted. Guaranteed notification of updates on birds, loft etc.
If you don't have any pigeons we can breed them for you.
Birds will be anchored at the "Classic Loft" situated at my (Mark Johnston's) property, Koorainghat, just south of Taree, for the sole purpose of competing in that race. I will not have an interest in any birds entered in the race.
All birds can be delivered to the loft after 1/10/2005 and must comply with the following:
Be not more than 35 days old and weaned
Be free of parasites and disease
Bear a 2005 life ring
Birds which arrive and don't meet the requirements will be not be accepted, any that become sick and don't respond to treatment within 7 days will be destroyed. The owner will be permitted to replace the entry up to the closing date.
The 2006 race will be held from TWEED HEADS on Sunday the 23rd of July, 2006 and will be under the control of the committee. All decisions made by the committee are final and binding.
Entry fee for the race is $50 per bird and must accompany the delivery of the bird or the entry will not be accepted. For every 5 entries you put in you receive one free.
SEND 6 BUT YOU ONLY HAVE TO PAY FOR 5.
A number of donated SPARES will be placed in the loft and will be allocated by ballot if necessary for lost birds. (This will take place one week before the race.)
If extra SPARES are available they will be first offered for open auction on the day of the race at a beginning price of $50. Any not sold will be raffled and an amount of $50 must be raised for each bird.
The CLASSIC PRIZE(S) will be declared at a rate of 1 prize for the first 50 entries and then at a rate of 1 per every 25 entries after. (E.g. 100 entries 3 prizes, 200 entries 7 prizes etc.)
